OPEN PANTRY
Our Open Pantry is open to the public Monday through Friday 8am to 2pm.
DRIVE- THRU
DONATIONS
We partner with Christ Is Salvation Church quarterly and host a drive- thru event where we distribute food, toys, clothing, and basic necessities to the community.
We pick up monetary and in- kind donations from local agencies, which we then box and distribute at our local Food Pantry.

ABOUT US
Thermal Food & Donation Center was founded by local businessman Ruben Martinez who has been a resident of Thermal since 1962. Ruben Martinez remembers that in 1962, when he moved with his family to the United States at the age of ten years’ old there were no well-established programs set in place to help families who were in need of immediate food. He remembers that he had to ask the local food markets for the spoils and leftovers to have sufficient nourishment for himself and his family.
Currently, Thermal has been identified by the U.S. Census, as a population that is surviving under the poverty line. More than 50% of the Hispanic Population in Thermal are living without proper food provisions. Due to this, a lot of families live in need. Ruben Martinez acknowledges that a great need for basic necessities such as food persists and predominantly lessens the quality of life for those within the community of Thermal.
The purpose of the Thermal Food & Donation Center is to provide food assistance and relief to families and individuals that abide within Thermal and the Coachella Valley. We strive to lessen the burden of hunger within our community. In this day and age, there is no reason why any child, youth, women, man or elderly should go without proper nourishment. The Thermal Food & Donation Center vows to open its doors so that no person ever has to wonder when their next meal will be.
MISSION
It is our mission to combat hunger by providing hunger relief assistance to as many families, children, youth, women and men in Thermal. No family has ever been turned away. We open our doors daily to families from all over the Coachella Valley, and provide them with food. We want to help sustain and empower families in the community of Thermal through nourishment.
The Thermal Food & Donation Center provides help to the community of Thermal and the Coachella Valley. There is always someone who is in need and through the Thermal Food & Donation Center we are here to lessen the number of families that go without food every day.
We believe that proper nourishment is an essential and fundamental necessity for the success and well-being of every individual. The Thermal Food & Donation Center wants to be an active and available participant in the growth our community.
We give without expecting any reciprocation to our program. We give without demanding a commitment. Our only mission is to help those in need regardless of race, lifestyle, beliefs and gender. We believe that access to nutritious food is a basic human right. We are committed to responding to the needs of our community through food distribution.
VISION
Our Vision at the Thermal Food & Donation Center is to establish a center of life that will persist within our community as a lasting resource. Our vision for years to come, is to provide hunger relief but more importantly we aim to provide hope by lessening the daily burden of hunger that many families are forced to endure.
We envision ourselves becoming a center of provision who's reach supersedes the boundaries of Thermal and will grow to encompass the whole Coachella Valley.
We will continue to focus our efforts and resolve to eradicating hunger, the causes of hunger, and the problems related with hunger through awareness, mobilization of resources, and community involvement.
We envision a community in which everyone has access to sufficient nourishment that is why we strive to become a beacon of hope within our community by restoring dignity, health, opportunity and hope to people living in poverty.
Our long- term vision is to change lives in the communities we serve by feeding the hungry today, and building a healthy, hunger-free tomorrow. We hope that you will partner with us in our vision and help us restore our community one donation at a time.
